What a Move in Los Angeles Actually Costs
The real factors behind an LA moving quote: inventory, access, carries, traffic windows and building rules. Written before the truck rolls.
Read the guideMoving for the industry is a different brief than a household move: the dates are set by production schedules, the inventory often includes equipment alongside the household, and the window between wrap and the next booking is exactly as long as it is. Culver City, Burbank and the studio-adjacent neighborhoods see this pattern every week.
Production dates move — that is the nature of the business. The planning answers it: lock the move date early, confirm both addresses, and keep a line to the crew so schedule changes get handled fast instead of discovered on the day. A crew that knows the plan absorbs a date shift; a crew that does not, cannot.
Industry households frequently move equipment alongside furniture — monitors, cases, gear that is both personal and professional. Declare it all in the estimate: specialty pieces get individual handling plans, and the load order anticipates what needs to be working first at the new address.
Studio-adjacent buildings run on the same access reality as the rest of LA — COIs, elevator windows, dock schedules — with the added pressure of production deadlines. Confirm the building requirements early and the paperwork never competes with the schedule.
Call as early as you can — morning calls have the best odds. Short-notice moves get a real plan: addresses, inventory and access confirmed in one call.
Yes — declare the specialty pieces in the estimate and they get individual handling plans alongside the furniture.
Tell the crew as soon as it changes. The plan absorbs schedule shifts when it knows about them in advance.
Yes — the window is whatever the schedule and the buildings allow. After-hours and weekend moves are normal work.

The long-distance move - went smoothly and communication was somewhat disjointed but in the end worked out.
The crew did an exceptional job with our local residental move today. They were on time and extremely efficient while taking great care of each piece of furniture! Highly recommend them and would definitely use them again. Angela T.
The crew were AWESOME! We moved on a stormy day, tornado sirens blaring. This crew had the best vibes all day long! They were funny, kind, and took excellent care of our things.
Have to say. . . Our move was out of state. The following are a few observations; Very Professional, Considerate of time, Very willing to help with extra placement/location of furniture. Over all highly recommend. Special Thanks to the crew who worked together like “ ‘Peas and Carrots’ “ ! This move which was in 100’ weather went as smooth and timely as possible. Thanks to Eagle One Movers and the guys. Nicely done! And Thank You! Highly Recommend!!!!
The crew were amazing! I cannot say enough good things about them. We really appreciate them. They took great care of my mom! Thank you so much! I will definitely recommend Eagle One Movers and this crew especially!!!💕
While Eagle One Movers did a great job with my move, my experience getting them to handle resulting damage has not been great. They have not responded to my calls or emails, didn't respond to a complaint I filed with a consumer complaint organization and even removed my post from their social media page. Damage happens; it's how you handle it that counts. Thus far, Eagle One Movers has failed miserably in that department and I now have no choice but to file a complaint with the appropriate state regulator and see if they will intervene.
